NCT ID NCT02543983

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study aims to understand what happens in the brain when someone thinks about or attempts suicide. Researchers will use brain scans, sleep tests, and blood work to compare four groups: people who recently had suicidal thoughts or attempts, those with past thoughts, people with depression or anxiety but no suicidal thoughts, and healthy volunteers. Some participants will also receive the drug ketamine to see if it helps reduce suicidal thinking. The goal is to find better ways to help people in crisis.
