First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study aims to understand what happens in the brain when someone has thought about or attempted suicide. Researchers will use interviews, blood tests, brain scans, and sleep monitoring to compare four groups: people who recently had suicidal thoughts or attempts, those with past thoughts, people with depression or anxiety but no suicidal thoughts, and healthy volunteers. The goal is to find biological and psychological differences that could lead to better treatments.
