Obesity's secret impact on labor revealed in new study
NCT ID NCT01762683
First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study looked at how obesity might affect the cells in the uterus that help with labor. Researchers took blood and uterine tissue samples from 38 women having C-sections, some with normal weight and some obese. They wanted to see if certain cells and chemicals in the blood could change how uterine cells behave, which might explain why obese women sometimes have delivery problems.
