First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study aimed to create a computer program that can automatically identify arteries and bones from ultrasound images taken during surgery. The goal is to make surgical navigation more accurate and efficient, potentially replacing CT scans. Fifty adults with abdominal cancer who were scheduled for surgery participated. The study focused on developing and testing the algorithm, not on treating the cancer itself.
