Better imaging for bowel endometriosis: could a new ultrasound method reduce unnecessary surgery?
NCT ID NCT07517055
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at two ways to measure endometriosis growths in the bowel before and during surgery. About 98 women will get both a standard vaginal ultrasound before surgery and a special ultrasound during their operation. The goal is to see if the during-surgery ultrasound gives more accurate measurements, which could help doctors plan safer surgeries and avoid removing more bowel than needed.
