Sound waves supercharge immune system to fight cancer in new trial
NCT ID NCT06524570
Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether using high-intensity focused ultrasound to break apart a tumor can make immunotherapy drugs work better for people with advanced cancer that has stopped responding to standard treatments. The trial will enroll 24 adults to receive one ultrasound treatment alongside two immunotherapy drugs (ipilimumab and nivolumab). Researchers will primarily check if the combination is safe and tolerable, while also looking for early signs that it helps shrink tumors.
