First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tested whether a single injection of 5% dextrose (sugar water) around the median nerve, guided by ultrasound, could reduce pain and improve hand function in 37 adults with mild to moderate carpal tunnel syndrome. Participants were evaluated before the injection and again at 1 and 3 months after. The main goals were to see if the treatment safely reduces pain and improves nerve health as seen on ultrasound.
