Ultrasound-Guided trick may keep stomachs flat during surgery

NCT ID NCT06688097

First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether pressing on the esophagus with ultrasound guidance during face-mask ventilation can prevent stomach bloating. 103 adults having laparoscopic surgery were split into two groups: one with the pressure technique and one without. The goal was to see if the technique reduces stomach distension, which can complicate surgery.
