Could a simple ultrasound biopsy replace surgery for bladder cancer staging?

NCT ID NCT07029256

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is testing whether an ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy can accurately determine the stage of bladder cancer. Researchers will compare the biopsy results with the final stage found during standard surgery. The goal is to see if this less invasive method can be a reliable tool for staging, potentially reducing the need for more extensive procedures. The study involves 100 adults who are already scheduled for bladder removal surgery.
