Sound waves to clear the fog: ultrasound tested on COVID brain drain

NCT ID NCT07154199

Summary

This study is testing whether a gentle, non-invasive ultrasound treatment aimed at a specific brain area can improve thinking and memory problems in people with long COVID 'brain fog'. Researchers in Beijing will give 40 participants either the real ultrasound treatment or a sham (fake) treatment to see if it helps with focus and accuracy on cognitive tasks. The goal is to see if this brief brain stimulation can ease the persistent mental cloudiness that affects some people after COVID-19.
