Could a simple ultrasound spot Chemo's painful side effect?

NCT ID NCT03958747

Summary

This small, completed study tested whether ultrasound could be a better way to detect nerve damage caused by the chemotherapy drug oxaliplatin. Researchers compared ultrasound images of leg nerves from 20 patients with gastrointestinal cancer to data from healthy people. The goal was to see if ultrasound measurements matched other tests for nerve damage, like patient surveys and skin biopsies.
