Sound waves could soothe arthritis pain

NCT ID NCT06555562

Summary

This study tested whether a non-invasive, focused ultrasound treatment could reduce harmful inflammation in people with inflammatory arthritis. Sixteen participants, including healthy volunteers and people with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, received several ultrasound sessions, some real and some placebo. Researchers measured changes in inflammatory markers in the blood to see if the treatment activated the body's natural anti-inflammatory system.
