Scientists use ultrasound to unlock brain, supercharge cancer fight

NCT ID NCT05864534

Summary

This study is testing a new approach for treating glioblastoma, a very aggressive brain cancer. Researchers are implanting a small ultrasound device in the brain to temporarily open the protective blood-brain barrier. The goal is to allow powerful immune-boosting drugs to better reach and attack the tumor. The trial will check if this combined method is safe and effective for 25 patients who have recently finished standard radiation treatment.
