Simple scan and blood test could spare patients invasive procedure
NCT ID NCT07458490
Summary
This study aims to see if combining a simple blood test for H. pylori bacteria with a painless stomach ultrasound can accurately predict which patients with stomach ulcers are at high risk for serious complications like bleeding. Researchers want to create a scoring system to help doctors quickly decide which patients need an urgent, invasive endoscopy and which can be safely monitored. The study will include 230 adults with stomach pain or suspected ulcers who will get the blood test and ultrasound, with endoscopy performed only if medically necessary.
