Targeted shot could ease agony of broken ribs, cut opioid need

NCT ID NCT06299137

Summary

This study tested if a targeted ultrasound-guided nerve block could help emergency room patients with broken ribs. It compared the block to standard pain care to see if it improved patients' ability to breathe deeply and cough while reducing their need for opioid painkillers. The goal was to find a better way to manage this very painful injury.
