Revolutionary heart scan cuts radiation by 95%

NCT ID NCT07284576

Summary

This study is testing a new type of heart scan that aims to use 10 to 100 times less radiation than current standard scans. Researchers will give 200 volunteers, both with and without known or suspected heart disease, a very small dose of a radioactive tracer and image them for up to 3 hours on a special scanner. The main goal is to see if clear, useful images of the heart can still be produced with this much lower radiation exposure.
