Early chest CT scans sharpen pneumonia prediction in stroke patients

NCT ID NCT07321275

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looked at 1499 people who had an acute ischemic stroke and got a chest CT within 24 hours. Researchers wanted to see if combining CT findings with clinical signs and inflammation markers could better predict who would develop pneumonia within a week. They built and tested a new prediction model that may help doctors identify high-risk patients earlier.
