UCLA tests new clinic to keep patients out of crowded hospitals
NCT ID NCT06526884
Summary
This study is evaluating a new UCLA program called the Next Day Clinic. The goal is to see if sending certain emergency room patients with conditions like pneumonia or heart failure to a special high-acuity clinic the next day, instead of admitting them to the hospital, leads to better care and reduces overcrowding. Researchers will compare outcomes like time spent out of the hospital, patient satisfaction, and costs between patients who go to the clinic and those who follow the usual path of hospital admission.
