Peeking inside the eye: ultrasound reveals how glaucoma surgery heals

NCT ID NCT07454447

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study uses a special ultrasound to take detailed pictures inside the eye after a type of glaucoma surgery. Researchers want to see how the eye heals and whether those images can predict how well the surgery controls eye pressure. Thirty adults with open-angle glaucoma who have had this surgery will be followed for six months.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could help doctors predict which patients will benefit most from this type of glaucoma surgery.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early observational study with only 30 participants. It does not test a new treatment, so it cannot directly improve outcomes.
