First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving two antibiotics together (meropenem and azithromycin) helps young children with hard-to-treat typhoid fever recover faster than using just one. 90 children aged 6 months to 5 years with confirmed drug-resistant typhoid took part. The main goal was to see how quickly their fever went away and stayed away for at least 48 hours.
