Can a simple blood test reveal how many insulin cells kids with diabetes have left?

NCT ID NCT05594706

First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026

Summary

This study checks if a substance in the blood called 1,5-anhydroglucitol can help measure how many insulin-producing cells children with type 1 diabetes still have. Researchers will compare levels in newly diagnosed children, those with long-term diabetes, and healthy volunteers. The goal is to find a better way to track the health of these cells without complex tests.
