First seen Nov 24, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding tranexamic acid (TXA) to standard surgery for chronic subdural hematoma (a type of brain bleed) reduces the need for a second surgery within 90 days. About 274 adults who need surgery will be randomly assigned to receive TXA plus surgery or surgery alone. The goal is to see if TXA helps prevent the hematoma from coming back.
