New dental device aims to improve jaw correction in kids
NCT ID NCT07608406
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether a modified dental device (Twin Block) works better than the standard clear version for correcting jaw alignment in children aged 10-13 with a specific type of overbite. Forty participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two devices. The study will measure changes in jaw position, joint health, and patient comfort using X-rays and questionnaires.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Modified Twin Block Appliance (dental device)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show that a modified dental device is more effective at correcting jaw alignment and reducing jaw joint discomfort in growing children.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 40 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The devices are not drugs, so risks are low but include discomfort or poor fit.
