First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study looked at whether interacting with a live turtle or watching turtle videos could help adults with type 2 diabetes lower their blood sugar levels (HbA1c) and feel more confident about taking their diabetes medication. Fifty-one participants were split into groups that either cared for a live turtle, watched turtle videos, or received standard care. The goal was to see if turtle therapy could improve diabetes management through relaxation and bonding.
