Spice & sweat: new program aims to shield aging brains
NCT ID NCT07284316
Summary
This study is testing whether a combined program of physical exercise, cognitive training, and a turmeric supplement can help prevent cognitive decline in adults aged 55-70 who have insulin resistance, a known risk factor for dementia. One hundred participants will follow the program for 24 weeks, with some receiving turmeric and others a placebo, to see if it improves memory, thinking skills, and related body chemistry. The goal is to find a practical lifestyle-based strategy to maintain brain health before significant symptoms develop.
