Heart scan could spot hidden risk in chest pain patients

NCT ID NCT03952351

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether a special heart scan (CTCA) can help find hidden heart disease in people who come to the hospital with chest pain but are not having a heart attack. About 3,170 adults with slightly elevated troponin levels (a sign of heart stress) will get the scan to see if it helps prevent future heart attacks or heart-related deaths. The goal is to improve how doctors identify and treat those at risk.
