Summary
This study tested whether adding a benzoyl peroxide gel to standard iodine cleaning could lower the amount of Cutibacterium acnes bacteria on the skin during shoulder surgery. 156 adults scheduled for shoulder surgery were randomly assigned to one of three cleaning methods. The goal was to see which method best reduced bacteria in the surgical area, potentially preventing infections.
