Sleep drug tested to halt memory loss in At-Risk patients

NCT ID NCT05209035

Summary

This study is testing if a common sleep medication called trazodone can slow down memory loss in people who have both early-stage memory problems (mild cognitive impairment) and obstructive sleep apnea. Researchers believe treating sleep apnea might help protect the brain. Over one year, 134 participants will take either trazodone or a placebo pill to see if it reduces certain blood markers linked to brain decline and improves cognitive scores.
