Virtual reality could transform Follow-Up care for young testicular cancer survivors
NCT ID NCT07571499
First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study tests a digital tool called TRANSCEND-XR, which uses extended reality (like virtual reality) to help adolescents and young adults who have finished treatment for testicular cancer. The tool aims to teach them about long-term side effects, when to see a doctor, and how to stay healthy. The trial will first check if the tool is practical to use, then measure whether it improves patients' knowledge and quality of life compared to standard follow-up care.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Digital tool using extended reality (TRANSCEND-XR)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could provide a new, engaging way for young survivors to learn about long-term side effects and take charge of their health after testicular cancer treatment.
What could go wrong
This is an early feasibility study, so the tool may not improve knowledge or quality of life as hoped. The digital approach may not suit all users, and results may not apply to other cancers.
