NCT ID NCT07460518

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether giving tranexamic acid (a drug that helps blood clot) before prostate surgery can reduce bleeding and prevent anemia in older men. About 80 men aged 50+ with enlarged prostates will receive either the drug or a placebo. The goal is to see if this simple approach leads to less blood loss, faster recovery, and fewer transfusions.
