Summary
This study tests whether giving tranexamic acid before major gastrointestinal surgery can lower the chance of delirium—sudden confusion—after the operation. About 826 adults at higher risk for complications will receive either the drug or a placebo. The goal is to see if reducing inflammation protects the brain and improves recovery.
