Heart surgery bleeding study seeks best drug dose

Summary

This study looks at different doses of tranexamic acid, a medicine used to prevent bleeding during heart surgery. The goal is to find out which dose works best to stop bleeding and reduce the need for blood transfusions. About 150 adults having planned heart surgery with a heart-lung machine will take part. Researchers will take blood samples to measure how long the medicine stays active.
