Summary

This study tests a step-by-step plan to safely remove tracheostomy tubes from 300 people with prolonged disorders of consciousness. The goal is to see if a standard approach can help more patients breathe without the tube and improve their recovery. Participants must have some signs of awareness and a legal representative's consent.
