New program aims to boost confidence for home tracheostomy care
NCT ID NCT04741256
Summary
This study aimed to create and test a better training program for family members who care for head and neck cancer patients with a tracheostomy (a breathing tube in the neck). It planned to measure if the training made caregivers feel more confident and prepared, and if it led to fewer emergency visits or calls to nurses after the patient went home. The study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
