Summary
This study aims to understand how our sense of touch works in healthy people, so that this knowledge can be used to create prosthetic limbs that provide realistic sensory feedback. Researchers will use a technique called microneurography to record nerve signals while participants feel different textures, temperatures, and other stimuli. The study involves 210 healthy adults aged 20-70, and a small group of amputees, to learn how to restore the sense of touch in those who have lost a limb.
