First seen Dec 23, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested a gel containing sirolimus (0.2%) on 5 adults with acanthosis nigricans, a condition causing dark, thick skin patches. The goal was to see if the gel safely lightens the dark color and improves skin texture over 12 weeks. Researchers measured changes using a melanin index and a scoring chart for skin color and texture.
