Summary

This study tested whether numbing the airway with lidocaine spray before anesthesia can reduce dangerous blood pressure swings in heart surgery patients. 106 adults having elective cardiac surgery were enrolled. The goal was to lower opioid doses and keep the heart stable during the critical induction phase.
