Could your own tooth be the best bone graft? new trial investigates

NCT ID NCT07394634

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether using a person's own extracted tooth (processed into a graft) can better preserve the shape of the socket after tooth removal compared to letting it heal naturally. Twenty healthy adults will be randomly assigned to receive either the tooth graft or no graft. Both groups will also get a blood-derived membrane to aid healing. The researchers will measure changes in socket size using clinical exams and 3D X-rays over 6 months.
