App teaches kids to jump and think — all from home
NCT ID NCT07680075
First seen Jul 02, 2026 · Last updated Jul 02, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a smartphone app can help parents teach their 3- to 5-year-olds basic motor skills like jumping and balancing. Over 12 weeks, families follow short daily activity breaks guided by the app. Researchers will check if these physical skills also boost children's thinking skills, such as memory and attention.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
PLAY App (COSMIC intervention)
What this could lead to
If successful, this app-based approach could offer a simple, home-friendly way to boost both physical and mental development in young children.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 35 children, so results may not apply to all kids. The app requires consistent parent involvement, which may be challenging for some families.
