First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether starting tongue strengthening exercises soon after tongue cancer surgery can improve speech and swallowing. About 40 adults who have part of their tongue removed will use a biofeedback device called the Tongueometer to guide their exercises. The goal is to see if this proactive approach leads to better long-term outcomes than waiting for problems to arise.
