First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at how different speeds of mild electrical pulses to the tongue and chin muscles affect muscle size, strength, and comfort in 28 adults at high risk for sleep apnea. Participants receive five different stimulation frequencies in one visit, and researchers measure changes using ultrasound and a tongue-pressure device. The goal is to find the best settings for future treatments, not to cure or treat the condition directly.
