Healthy tongues put to the test: new study measures protrusion power

NCT ID NCT06169761

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026

Summary

This study looks at how well healthy adults can stick out their tongues with force and for how long. Researchers will measure tongue pressure and endurance using a special device, and compare these results with handgrip and breathing muscle strength. The goal is to understand normal tongue function and create reliable reference values. About 300 healthy adults aged 18 and older will participate.
