Brain zaps may ease swallowing trouble in Parkinson's

Summary

This study tested a non-invasive treatment called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for swallowing difficulties (dysphagia) in people with Parkinson's disease. 26 patients received either 5 Hz or 10 Hz stimulation to the part of the brain that controls swallowing. Researchers measured changes in swallowing safety and function using video exams and scales.
