Zapping the brain to ease joint pain: new trial tests TMS for psoriatic arthritis

NCT ID NCT07403890

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a non-invasive brain stimulation technique called repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) can reduce chronic pain in people with psoriatic arthritis. Researchers will give 40 adults with low disease activity but ongoing pain either real rTMS or a sham procedure over 4 weeks. The goal is to see if targeting a specific brain region can change immune cell signals and provide lasting pain relief.
