Simple antibiotic may shield kidney patients from Post-Hospital infections

Summary

This study tests whether giving a common antibiotic (TMP/SMX) to adults who recently had acute kidney injury can prevent infections after they leave the hospital. About 120 participants will receive either the antibiotic or a placebo for 90 days. The goal is to see if this approach reduces infections and related hospital visits.
