First seen May 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests a new way to quickly grow a patient's own skin cells onto a scaffold to repair hard-to-heal wounds, like burns or diabetic ulcers. About 1,000 people will get either this new skin or a standard scaffold. The main goal is to see if the wound is fully closed after 4 weeks, with follow-ups checking for scars and return of function.
