First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This study is a survey of 500 adults with chronic tinnitus (ringing in the ears) to understand their willingness to try a surgically placed brain implant for relief. Researchers want to know what risks people would accept, how they'd use the device, and if they'd pay for it. The goal is to use this feedback to design a new minimally invasive brain implant.
