First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether two combinations of migraine medications can reduce the severity of tinnitus (ringing in the ears) in 78 adults with moderate to severe symptoms. Participants took the drugs or a placebo for 8 weeks, and researchers measured changes in tinnitus impact using a standard questionnaire. The goal was to find a new treatment option for a condition that currently has no FDA-approved medication.
