New drug combo aims to fight resistant prostate cancer

NCT ID NCT06457919

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests a new drug called tinengotinib combined with standard hormone therapies (abiraterone or enzalutamide) in 50 men with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer that has spread and stopped responding to usual treatment. The goal is to see if the combination is safe and shrinks tumors or lowers PSA levels. It is an early-phase trial, so the main focus is safety and finding the right dose.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

tinengotinib (TT-00420) combined with abiraterone acetate and prednisone or enzalutamide

What this could lead to

If successful, this could offer a new treatment option for men with advanced prostate cancer that has stopped responding to standard hormone therapy.

What could go wrong

This is an early-phase trial with only 50 participants, so results may not apply to all patients. The combination may cause side effects or fail to improve outcomes.
