New study tests minimally invasive heart valve repair to cut hospital stays

Summary
This study tests whether a minimally invasive heart valve repair procedure (TEER) plus standard medication can reduce hospital readmissions over two years in people with moderate mitral regurgitation that worsens with exertion. About 300 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the procedure plus medication or medication alone. The goal is to see if fixing the leaky valve helps the heart work better and keeps patients out of the hospital.
