This trial compares two surgical procedures for thumb arthritis at the base of the thumb. One is a newer technique called Mini TightRope suspensionplasty, which uses a small suture-button system to stabilize the joint. The other is the standard ligament reconstruction and tendon interposition (LRTI) surgery. The study includes 50 adults with moderate to severe thumb arthritis who have not improved with non-surgical treatments.
