This trial compares two surgical procedures for thumb arthritis at the base of the thumb. One is a newer technique called Mini TightRope suspensionplasty, which uses a small suture-button system to stabilize the joint. The other is the standard ligament reconstruction and tendon interposition (LRTI) surgery.
